I'm just your average Millennial, obsessed with staying home, binge-watching Parks & Rec and drinking all the Diet Coke in the house. I am a lover of Israel Diaz, female led businesses and long flowy dresses.
Welcome to my home on the internet where we talk life, theology, womanhood, marriage and work.
For Paige and John, that began with their wedding day and the life that was unfolding before them. To their surprise, starting their lives together wasn’t the only exciting new thing they were coming home to after their honeymoon. Paige was pregnant!
It never ceases to amaze me how much life can change in an instant. The moment you discover you’re pregnant it’s as if you board a train barreling toward a singular destination far off on the horizon. Suddenly, everything has changed and all that’s left to do is buckle up and enjoy the ride.
For two people who had the surprise of their life shortly after their wedding, Paige and John had this ease about them that I found myself marveling at. Paige was glowing as she carried her baby girl in her third trimester, and John’s love for his girls was palpable (and evidenced by his willingness to meet Paige in the water for a photo or two). These two cared for and respected one another and walked hand-in-hand as they walked the road of metamorphosis and left their husband and wife life behind to become mom and dad.
Paige decided that she wanted to document this season of life with John – the last time it would be just them two – so, we decided to meet at the beach for their maternity session. It turned out to be the most beautiful day with golden sunlight and crystal blue skies. Here is a little sneak peek of John and Paige’s maternity session:
For many, the new life that lies ahead can be a little scary. You don’t exactly know what to expect, you’re not sure what this new version of life will look like or if you’ll know how to navigate it once you get there. But the next time I find myself on the brink of something new, I think I’ll take a piece out of Paige and John’s book: surrender to the process of becoming, and trust that the Lord will give you all you need to transform into the person He intends you to be.
Until next time!
Let's be friends!
