I'm just your average Millennial, obsessed with staying home, binge-watching Parks & Rec and drinking all the Diet Coke in the house. I am a lover of Israel Diaz, female led businesses and long flowy dresses.
Welcome to my home on the internet where we talk life, theology, womanhood, marriage and work.
I had the pleasure of meeting the Polivy family on one sunny afternoon in La Jolla. Sam, her husband Ari, and their two boys showed up to our session looking so sweet and ready for adventure. It was not a dull moment with this sweet and energetic crew! There was digging, jumping, running, and tagging all throughout the session, and when it was time for smiles, these boys brought their A-game and were absolute rockstars.
It was so sweet to see the connection these little guys had with both their parents. The way they played with their dad made you want to jump in on all the fun, and the way they still snuggled up with mom could melt anyone’s heart. These boys were so full of life and love and I had the best time capturing the expression of those things during their family session. Also, hats off to mom and dad who kept up with these guys the whole time. Sam and Ari are the real MVPs.
The thing I loved most about the Polivy’s family session is that it really felt like them. We definitely got lots of photos of everyone looking at the camera and smiling, but so many of the moments we captured were candid and real and I just love how they turned out. Here is a little sneak peek of the Polivy’s family session:
When I first spoke with Sam she’d mentioned that her boys did not love taking photos, and while they weren’t all that interested in posing and smiling, I actually think their interest in play made for some really heart-warming final images that we wouldn’t have gotten otherwise. Do you have kiddos who hate taking photos? I know for me, the Diaz boys have about 15-20 minutes before they are OVER it. Does that scare you when it comes to taking family photos? As always, me, myself, and I want to know! Let me know in the comments!
Until next time!
Let's be friends!
You are AMAZING. My boys are wild and you made us look like a nice normal family 🙂 Next year you will have to come take pictures in Boston!
