I'm just your average Millennial, obsessed with staying home, binge-watching Parks & Rec and drinking all the Diet Coke in the house. I am a lover of Israel Diaz, female led businesses and long flowy dresses.
Welcome to my home on the internet where we talk life, theology, womanhood, marriage and work.
Let me just first tell you that I’ve always known my sister is creative, but before this weekend, I didn’t actually know how creative and talented she is capable of being. I planned none of this party and it was exactly everything I could have ever hoped for. I knew I didn’t want anything crazy like Vegas or Miami (because I’m secretly an old lady) so a weekend by the pool with homemade cocktails was the perfect getaway. It started off when I opened the door and the house was decked out in celebration with a fully stocked kitchen and Justin Bieber’s “Intentions” playing over the speakers.
These temporary tattoos that my best friend made from a picture of my fiancé, Israel. We all got to wear them and the best part was that they didn’t leave any tan lines and weren’t tough to take off!
UPDATE: Actually, some of mine stayed on for a looong time and were, indeed, in need of a scrubbing.
Not much was open around Palm Springs during these strange times, but honestly hanging out in the pool was perfect. Since we stayed at a family friend’s house we were pretty isolated and keeping to ourselves was easy. Still, we didn’t want to drive all the way to Palm Springs just to sit in a pool so we decided to wake up early (putting our hangover kits to the test – Thanks to my sister, Christina for donating her Arbonne products so that we stayed hydrated) and go for a hike. We went to Indian Canyons and hiked the Andreas Canyon Trail. It was beautiful and provided at least a little bit of shade for those hot Palm Springs mornings.
Breakfast, lunch and dinners were so much more enjoyable at that beautiful table that stayed set all weekend. We also kept track of our cups with these little plastic guys that hung on the rim. It was hilarious and cute all at the same time.
Noelle asked all the girls to send in their favorite photos of themselves and the bride and then she covered the entryway wall with a collage of those photos. It was the perfect personalized touch and made for a great backdrop! We were planning to go to La Quinta Resort to take some pretty group photos to commemorate the weekend but it was closed. Instead we found a nice white wall in front of the restaurant we were going to for dinner (Tommy Bahamas – I highly recommend, it was delicious!).
My sisters did an incredible job. We stayed busy but we also relaxed. We played games (For The Girls is a GREAT girl’s night game if you can’t think of bridal games!), we ate like royalty, and holy COW everything looked amazing. It was the perfect weekend and we ended it with one final meal at the table. In true basic bitch fashion, we had an incredible brunch fully equipped with popsicle mimosas and a gluten-free quiche that Christina made. It was one hell of a weekend, friends.
Let's be friends!
