I'm just your average Millennial, obsessed with staying home, binge-watching Parks & Rec and drinking all the Diet Coke in the house. I am a lover of Israel Diaz, female led businesses and long flowy dresses.
Welcome to my home on the internet where we talk life, theology, womanhood, marriage and work.
The Agustin family were some of my very first clients when I started accepting money in exchange for photos. I had no idea what I was doing but I had some idea how to pose people and I wasn’t charging that much so no one would be too upset if my photos sucked. Ashley and Travis booked me while I was still figuring out all my camera settings, they believed in me before I even really believed in myself.
Maybe it’s because I’ve known these two since they were in high school, or maybe that it’s because they’ve become some of my closest friends, but their family sessions are always so special for me. It’s funny, because I see their family generally once a week throughout the year. Time passes so quickly without us even noticing. The kids get taller, our faces grow older and suddenly we look up and we’re in a completely different season of life. But when we set aside time and are intentional about creating memories, it helps remind us that these days are fleeting and these moments are sacred.
Remembering is an art, and we have to practice it, carve out time for it, and commemorate it. I’m so grateful that the Agustins take time out of their busy lives every year to commemorate the year of life they’ve lived. Here is a sneak peek of their family session:
Are family photos high on your priority? I can tell you as a photographer myself that it’s so easy to just let another year pass without setting aside time to commemorate life but when I see a family session like these guys’, it inspires me to take some family photos. When was the last time you set aside time to reflect and celebrate your life? Tell me in the comments below! I’d love to hear from you!
Let's be friends!
