I'm just your average Millennial, obsessed with staying home, binge-watching Parks & Rec and drinking all the Diet Coke in the house. I am a lover of Israel Diaz, female led businesses and long flowy dresses.
Welcome to my home on the internet where we talk life, theology, womanhood, marriage and work.
You heard it here first, folks: Emily’s dohl party was the most beautiful, most fun first birthday party I’ve ever been to. If you’ve never heard of a dohl party, don’t worry, I hadn’t either. So, when Emily’s mama asked me to help her photograph this special event, I was excited to learn more. Dohl parties are traditional Korean first birthday parties, and in my humble opinion, they are the standard for how birthdays should be celebrated. Emily’s party featured lunch, dessert, a balloon artist, and a doljabi choosing ceremony where the birthday girl got to choose her future career path (she had some fun options like an academy award winner, a pro ultimate frisbee athlete, and a book jacket artist). It was honestly the cutest thing I’d ever seen.
Sally from Pretty Little Events planned this gorgeous shindig and worked with some incredible local businesses to pull it all together into an event that guests would certainly be talking about for weeks to come (I personally have told all my friends about it).
